Behind the scenes in the studio: the next wave is taking shape. 🌊✨

As an artist, I sculpt fine art clay pieces designed to shine a light on the vital, fragile life thriving beneath the waves. My hope is to inspire everyone who encounters my work to discover more about the ocean's remarkable biomedical gifts—breakthroughs in medicine that can heal us, provided we return the favor by fiercely protecting the sea and its wondrous inhabitants.

As a dedicated ECO-Artist, conservation is built directly into my practice: 10% of all sales are donated to local and international research initiatives focused on ocean health and restoration.

This past summer, I had the pleasure of bringing my work to several art events, connecting with fellow ocean lovers and sharing what inspired this journey. A centerpiece of those conversations was the brilliant book "The Ocean's Menagerie", by marine biologist Drew Harvell. Hearing how many of you were inspired to pick up her book and dive into those pages has been one of the season's greatest joys.

Alongside my larger clay sculptures, I debuted a small, curated collection of enameled sea creature earrings—and the response took my breath away. Many designs completely sold out within hours!

That excitement sparked an entire new wave of studio exploration, giving me the perfect excuse to play with rich vitreous glass, brilliant color gradients, and micro-scale copper torch firing.

Here is a behind-the-scenes look at the next cohort in progress—including chambered nautiluses, leafy seahorses, translucent jellyfish, branching coral, and flowing sirens. Each pair is individually hand-enameled and will soon be arriving in the online shop at bluecurrentcollective.com.
